New Media the White House Way
Barack Obama has been sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. It is an historic day and occasion. Now as he and the rest of his administration roll up their sleeves and get to work we can follow along.
The use of social media is part of their effort to provide Americans (and the world) with communication, transparency and to encourage participation.
Macon Phillips, Director of New Media for the White House, has the responsibility for overseeing the communication. You can visit the official blog at www.whitehouse.gov/blog.
You can also "follow" the White House on Twitter. Naturally, the Inaugural Address is posted, along with some other interesting links. As of this posting there are just 7,288 followers and I expect that number to grow exponentially. It will be interesting to see where it will end up ranking among the top Twitterers.
